PDO Threads
What are PDO threads?
Polydioxanone is a fully absorbable suture that has been used for more than 20 years in orthopedics, surgery, plastic surgery and opthalmology.

What do PDO threads do?
PDO barb threads lift and reposition sagging skin while also stimulating collagen and elastin production. The threads are inserted into the subdermal tissue for support of the areas being treated. Over the next 6-8 months, the PDO threads dissolve creating collagen which will keep the skin lifted and tighter for an additional 6 months or longer. Skin texture is also improved contributing to a more youthful, refreshed appearance. PDO smooth threads are used for superficial wrinkles (such as smile lines), improved skin texture, defining lip borders and volumizing. They are also wonderful for stimulating collagen and tightening in the neck.

There may be some transient zinging sensations from the nerves having been stimulated that will resolve is a couple of weeks. Swelling is minimal. NSAIDs and ice will help. PDO threads have a high safety profile, complete absorption and minimal tissue reaction.
